2008 Annual Conference of the Southwestern Economics Association, SWEA

March 12-15, 2008

Las Vegas, Nevada

Conference Information:
The annual Southwestern Economics Association, SWEA, meeting is held in association with the Southwestern Social Sciences Association. The 88th annual meeting to be held in March 2008 at Las Vegas, Nevada will provide scholars, students, and policy-makers from all fields of Economics with the opportunities to present single and co-authored research, to participate in roundtables, and to take part in interdisciplinary sessions with the other Social Science affiliates of the SSSA. All meetings will be held at the Riviera Hotel and Casino.

Submission and Paper Guidelines:
Submit your paper abstract of no more than 300 words electronically.

The objective(s) of the paper, methodology, discussion of data sources (if appropriate), and expected results and contributions should be clearly stated.

NOTE: The acceptance of manuscripts implies commitment by the author(s) to attend and present the paper at the meeting in Las Vegas.

Deadlines:

The submission deadline has been extended to November 30, 2007!

Complete papers must be forwarded to all members of the assigned panel/session by Thursday, January 31, 2008.

Papers presented at the meeting may be submitted for publication in the refereed journals, the Southwestern Journal of Economics or the Social Science Quarterly.

Student Participation and Awards:
Students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels from all fields are strongly encouraged to participate in the SWEA 2008 meeting. While student papers must meet all the detailed guidelines and expectations above, student papers are also evaluated for cash and non-cash awards, which are announced during the SWEA business meeting.
